The Idea
Oud Reborn is Naseer Shamma's ongoing research and performance project dedicated to reviving the oud's lost lineages — most famously his reconstruction and performance of the eight-string oud attributed to Ziryab.
The project unites luthiers, researchers and performers to return historical instruments to the concert stage and to the curriculum of the Arab Oud House.
